Q. Are you a community or council based pre school?
A. No, we are a privately owned pre school.
Q. How old does my child need to be to start?
A. Children must be at least 3 years of age to start
Q. What are the hours?
A. We open at 8.00a.m and close at 4.00p.m. Children can be collected at anytime, however children cannot be collected after 4.00p.m (we do not offer Before and After School Care services).
Q. How many days can I enrol my child for?
A. Anywhere between 2 and 5 days. We do not have set days, you can choose days of own choice subject to availability. We are at full capacity for 2026.
Q.Does The Hills Pre School close during school terms?
A. No. We stay open throughout the year. We only close for 4 weeks during December and January.
Q. Does my child need to be toilet trained?
A. Children must be fully trained to start. No nappies or pull ups allowed.
Q. Does my child have to sleep at The Hills Pre School?
A. No. We do not have a “sleep time”, however if a child does require a sleep or is still having day naps we do have beds we can provide for them. The children have a relaxation time after lunch.
Q. What happens if my child is sick?
A. Please inform the pre school your child will be absent. Children can only return if they are symptom free.
If your child becomes ill whilst at preschool, we will contact you immediately. Please note that all educators hold current First Aid certificates and training in Anaphylaxis and Asthma management. Full fees still apply for sick days.
Q. What happens if my child needs medication?
A. If you require your child to have medication whilst at the centre the educators are able to administer medication. All medication must be prescribed by a doctor. We do not administer over the counter medications such as Panadol unless it is accompanied by a doctor’s letter. A medication form will need to be completed for the medication to be administered.
Please note that if your child is taking antibiotics, they cannot be at pre school for the first 24 hours of being on medication.
Q. What will our fees be for 2026?
A.Our fees are competitively priced at $110 per day.
Q. What happens if my child’s preschool day falls on a public holiday or if my child is sick?
A. Full fees still apply.
Q. Do you have Child Care Subsidies (CCS)?
A. Yes we do.
Q. Do you have Start Strong Funding?
A. Yes! Below are this year’s figures.
-up to $37.15 each week for children who are at least 4 years old on, or before, 31 July 2026
-up to $8.81 each week for children who are 3 years old and not yet 4 years old on, or before 31 July in 2026
Q. Do I need to pay a holding bond to secure my child’s position?
A. Yes, a holding bond equating to 2 weeks fees is payable (this is refunded at the end of your child’s care). if you pay a holding bond to enrol your child and choose not to start them the bond is not refundable

Q. What should I provide for morning tea and lunch for my child?
A. Morning Tea: fruit, veggies, yogurt, cheese snacks, tiny teddy’s, sultanas etc
Lunch: Sandwiches, wraps, bread rolls, sushi, pasta, rice, Bento boxes
A drink bottle filled with water. Empty drink bottles are refilled throughout the day.
Q. What should my child wear to pre school?
Q. Are the educators qualified?
A. All educators are qualified and experienced. We have a very low turn over of staff who have been at the pre school for many years. We have a 1:10 chid to educator ratio.
Q. What if this is my child’s first time in an early education setting or I have an anxious child?
A. When the children start with us the educators spend lots of time forming nurturing and trusting relationships with the children. The educators have many different strategies in place to make the children feel comfortable and secure. Tears are very common from the child and parent. All the educators are very warm and friendly, it will feel like their second home in no time.
